Use

Material and construction

The jacket (kimono) is made from 420 GSM pearl weave cotton. This weave style is known for balancing strength and weight: pearl weave is grip-friendly enough for your training partner to get a hold, whilst remaining light and breathable. The trousers are made from 8oz ripstop cotton-polyester, which provides high tear resistance in the most stressed areas such as the knees and seat. The reinforcements on lapels, knees, sleeves and other stress zones ensure the gi can withstand intensive rolling sessions, year after year.

Competition-ready

For BJJ athletes who want to compete, IBJJF compliance is essential. The Ascend meets the requirements of the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation in terms of permitted colours (white, navy, black), patch placement and cut. This means you can take this gi to IBJJF-recognised tournaments and local competitions that adhere to these standards without worry.

Fit and comfort

The Ascend is cut for an athletic, comfortable fit that doesn't restrict freedom of movement. The stretch drawstring in the trousers provides a secure, personally adjustable closure around the waist. Size guide

The Ascend Gi is available in six sizes according to standard BJJ A sizing. Use the table below as a guide:

• A0 – height 1.55 – 1.65 m / weight 50 – 65 kg
• A1 – height 1.65 – 1.72 m / weight 65 – 75 kg
• A2 – height 1.72 – 1.80 m / weight 75 – 85 kg
• A3 – height 1.80 – 1.88 m / weight 85 – 95 kg
• A4 – height 1.88 – 1.95 m / weight 95 – 110 kg
• A5 – height from 1.95 m / weight from 110 kg

Keep in mind that the gi may shrink slightly during the first wash. If you're unsure between two sizes and fall into the upper segment of a size, choose the larger variant. Wash the gi in cold water and hang it to dry to minimise shrinkage.

For whom?

The Ascend Lightweight Gi is suitable for beginners, intermediate and experienced BJJ practitioners. Beginners benefit from the comfortable fit and durable construction, whilst intermediate and competition fighters appreciate the competition-ready specifications and lightweight design. Also an excellent choice as a second gi for warm training days or as a travel gi for seminars and training camps.

Care

The Ascend is pre-treated to resist colour fading. Wash the gi in cold water, separately from other colours on first use, and hang it to dry rather than using a tumble dryer. Avoid high temperatures to limit shrinkage and keep the material in top condition. Wash the gi after every training session to prevent bacterial growth and skin irritation – a golden rule in BJJ.

Colour options

Available in the three IBJJF-compliant colours: white, navy and black. Each colour has its own character, from classic white for the traditional BJJ look to bold navy and black for a more modern appearance.

All products are immediately available

Orders that are immediately available and placed before 5:00 PM will be shipped the same day (Monday to Friday) from our warehouse and picked up by PostNL or DHL. You will receive a track & trace code the same day to follow your package. PostNL or DHL delivers the order the next day to the location of your choice in the Netherlands and Belgium. 

If you place an order for which all products are immediately available on Friday after 5:00 PM, Saturday or Sunday, we will ship it on Monday. In this case you will receive your order on Tuesday.

One or more products have a delivery time

In addition to our stock that is immediately available, we also have external stock. These products have a delivery time of 1 to 10 working days. This delivery time is indicated for each product in the availability. If you place an order with multiple products of which one or more products has a longer delivery time, this delivery time applies to the entire order. 

Punching bags & puzzle mats

Punching bags, puzzle mats and packages with different dimensions or weight are sent with an external courier service. This courier service works just like DHL with a tracking code to track your order. The delivery time for this is 1 to 2 working days.

Different delivery times apply for orders outside the Netherlands and Belgium. Via the track & trace code you will find current information regarding the delivery time of your package.
