Jon 'Bones' Jones, considered by many to be the best MMA fighter of all time, will make his comeback to the octagon this Saturday (Sunday morning Dutch time) after a three year absence.
"I'm honored to still be here," Jones said during the UFC 285 Media Day. "It's great to still be here. I've been inactive for the past three years when it comes to the UFC. "
This Saturday, Jones returns to the octagon for the first time in three years when he takes on Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title at UFC 285.
If he wins, Jones will become the eighth multi-division champion in UFC history, and in the eyes of many, reclaim his place as the best fighter in the sport. According to the UFC, that honor currently rests with featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, despite his recent loss to Islam Makhachev.
Renowned for his dominant and creative fighting style, Jon Jones is eager to make a statement in his heavyweight debut. "My goal is to make it look easy," Jones said.
Cyril Gane, a Frenchman with the necessary experience in the UFC, faces Jon Jones. This creative Muay Thai fighter recently made the switch to MMA and is making waves in the UFC with his fast, tight and accurate punching and kicking techniques.
Good news! UFC 285 can be watched live with both English and Dutch commentary on Discovery+.
